After a really nice visit with Otto and Annette (and Milo and Tigger which made us miss our own dogs), we left a rather snowy Springbrook at 11 am and arrived in Edmonton at 1 pm.
Since it was too early to check in, we went to the brand new Royal Alberta Museum (RAM) that just opened up a week ago, right downtown. We missed free entry by one day, drat. So we had to pay $19 each.
Which way to the live animal section?
The human history floor had mainly Aboriginal or Edmonton related stuff:
We enjoyed the natural history floor much better.
The displays were incredibly lifelike:
They also had a section on gems and minerals:
Since we were nearby, we also visited the Muttart Conservatory. It has 4 glass paneled pyramids which we enjoyed, but they were not very large.
We left the conservatory and felt sorry for these poor day lilies:
The roads in Edmonton are very strange. They spiral and break off when you don't expect it. We eventually found our "home" for the next few days and settled in. This is the first time we have tried an airbnb and so far it seems very nice. Too bad the dog 2 doors down won't stop barking. The owners put him outside and he wants in so badly, poor thing.
